Today’s guest speaker was Kendra Mitchell, Assimilation Director for Little Chapel Church. Kendra spoke with our class about the key differences between working in a nonprofit organization versus a for-profit business, and how purpose and mission play a central role in nonprofit work.

Kendra has worn many professional hats throughout her career. She began as a forensic scientist with the Illinois State Police. After starting a family, she chose to step away from full-time work. Following a move back home to Southern Illinois and once her children were in school, she was led into church work, where she now serves as Assimilation Director.
